Yumms Snacks Pty Ltd

Yumms Snacks Pty Ltd is situated on 10 Conventry Place Willowton Pietermaritzburg 

It all started in 2004 when the three friends, going away on a weekend to the Southern Drakensberg, popped in at the Moth Shell Hole in Boston. A local farmer, Ron Corbishley, had acquired nak manufacturing equipment, due to a debt default, as he had been supplying maize to a nak manufacturer in Howick. The business was then created when Alan Brunsdon, Revel Williams and Andrew Goddard purchased the equipment and the local shed on the farm was turned into the manufacturing facility !

The business started out with Andrew Goddard doing the sales and marketing but he was also the delivery driver in the early days using his vehicle to do all the deliveries ! Soon however the volumes grew and additional equipment was purchased together with delivery vehicles. Initially only bulk naks were manufactured and sold but soon an old form fill and seal packing machine was commissioned and Yumm Snacks started to sell small foil packets of naks.

By 2007 the business could no longer be housed on the farm as the shed had become too small and the electricity supply not adequate. The entire business, including all the loyal staff, was moved to the Willowton industrial area in Pietermaritzburg. The new premises consisted of a 1100 m2 double volume factory in a secure complex.
